HPU Family Impacts 843 Lives Through Blood Drives

HIGH POINT, N.C., April 11, 2016 – High Point University students, faculty and staff impacted 843 lives this academic year by donating 283 pints of blood.

HPU held four blood drives throughout the year to support the American Red Cross.

“It is amazing to see how many students come out to the blood drive to donate,” said Hayley Houston, student president of HPU’s Volunteer Center. “When the waiting section is full, it warms my heart knowing that all of those people will be helping many people.”

“It’s wonderful to provide the opportunities to students to donate through different avenues and to also support corporations such as the American Red Cross,” said Anna Ventrone, coordinator of residential services at HPU.
