HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 19, 2017 – High Point University welcomed nine new staff members during the month of September. They are as follows:
Kathleen Smith joined HPU’s Office of Institutional Advancement as an advancement officer. Her goal is to build relationships with alumni, parents and friends in support of the university’s mission and growth. She will impact students through teaching and modeling stewardship and service for our community. Smith has experience working in educational advancements and holds a bachelor’s degree in communication.
Jasmine Brown joined HPU’s Office of Institutional Advancement as a data analyst. She works with the supporters of the university as they invest in HPU’s mission through managing records and relationships of donors, alumni, friends and family. Brown has over 10 years of experience providing administrative and technical support to nonprofits and institutional advancement offices. She holds a bachelor’s degree in community mental health and various certifications in data management software.
Gina Palombi joined HPU’s Office of Institutional Advancement as the young alumni and student engagement coordinator. She engages students and alumni within the university through service, programs, special events and gifts by overseeing HPU’s Student Alumni Council and Young Alumni Council. Additionally, Palombi aids with office communication strategies, as well as plans events such as Homecoming and Alumni Leadership Weekend. Palombi, who has experience in member relations and event planning, holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from HPU.
Samuel Stewart joined HPU’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions as an admissions counselor. He assists students from Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico with the admissions process. This includes being a guide and mentor from the application process through their enrollment and during their college years. Stewart, who has previous experience in the sports and entertainment industry, holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from HPU.
Holly Faulkenberry joined HPU’s Office of Communications as a Creative Content Coordinator. She is responsible for creating graphics for events, assisting with photo shoots, overseeing the HPU magazine and writing content for articles or emails. Faulkenberry holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic design.
Blake Harris joined HPU’s University Mail Center as a package delivery coordinator. He maintains and prioritizes mail according to order of importance to ensure the university is running on a consistent schedule. Harris has experience in education and sales and holds a bachelor’s degree in education from HPU.
