HPU’s Fall Family Weekend is just around the corner! As families make their way to campus on Sept. 21, HPU prepares to welcome more than 5,000 visitors for a fellowship-filled weekend. With three event-packed days, here are the Top 10 can’t-miss opportunities families can expect:
It’s not every day that you get to be part of HPU history! Attend the groundbreaking and tailgate party for the Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena, Conference Center and Hotel. The facility will provide a home for HPU men’s and women’s basketball, space for events and will support a future hospitality program.
Hear from HPU’s president. In a can’t-miss session, President Nido Qubein will host an update on the growth and progression of HPU.
In the mood for inspiration? HPU parent and Hall of Fame Speaker Dan Thurmon will deliver a presentation that will inspire you, thrill you and teach you valuable lessons for life and success.
One word: Swag. “I don’t like getting free stuff,” said no one ever! Pick up a complimentary registration gift when you check in at the R.G. Wanek Center.
Expand your foodie pallet. Enjoy complimentary meals on a campus ranked #1 in the nation for best food. Top that off with a stop at the Extraordinarie Cinema where you can snag popcorn and catch a family film.
Get your exercise on. Lace up your running shoes and meet us outside the Slane Student Center for the annual HPU Family 5K and Fun Run. What better way is there to start the day than with a run through one of the nation’s most beautiful campuses?
Make memories in an innovative photo booth. Stop by for a family photo that you can share instantly on social media with an animated gif. Plus, you’ll receive a printed photo on the spot. Find the photo booth in the Wanek Center on Friday and at the groundbreaking on Saturday.
Not all heroes wear capes! Become a community hero and take part in a service project hosted by the HPU Parents Council. Help package 20,000 meals for local agencies and make a difference in the High Point area.
Gain direct access to your student’s mentors. Attend an overview of HPU’s Learning Excellence Program to hear from the program director, Learning Excellence Specialists and students who can share insights on the program’s results-driven strategies and coaching. Then, take part in an open house hosted by the Office of Student Success to meet your child’s Success Coach and learn more about how the team supports your student.
Go out with a bang. Join us in Vert Stadium for a spectacular fireworks display following the Men’s Soccer game.
