HIGH POINT, N.C., Feb. 19, 2019 – High Point University’s Bonner Leaders and AmeriCorps VISTAs will host a Social Innovation Series: Justice Within Our Community on Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. in the Congdon Ballroom. This event is free and open to the public.
This series will give students and other young professionals around the area the opportunity to learn from local law enforcement and other criminal justice organizations about how unique the city of High Point is when it comes to reducing crime and working together to deter violence.
This event will help participants network with different organizations and learn about all the possible career fields they can pursue, policy reform, criminal justice and more.
“It’s important to HPU and the community to organize these discussions because it takes a village to build and maintain a community,” says Briana Smalley, an HPU Bonner Leader. “We want to encourage students and other young professionals across the city that there are jobs right here in High Point in city government related fields.”
HPU’s Social Innovation Series is a series of lectures and workshops designed to engage High Point Young Professionals and HPU students in opportunities to network with each other and the leaders who are crafting new business, civic and entrepreneurial opportunities in High Point.
