HIGH POINT, N.C., March 26, 2019 – High Point University wants everyone to wear purple and support student scholarships during the third annual “Day for HPU” on Wednesday, March 27.
Each year, the university sets aside a day to promote HPU’s Fund for Extraordinary Education, the annual scholarship fund that benefits students. Nearly 1,700 people contributed to the fund last year. Supporting the fund helps HPU award $40 million in annual scholarship assistance.
Ways to become involved and show support include wearing purple on March 27, making a gift and sharing an HPU story online by visiting https://engage.highpoint.edu/dayforhpu.
“One of the great secrets to High Point University’s success is that everyone who is a part of the university understands they play an important part in the growth, development and transformation of our students,” says HPU President Nido Qubein. “I’m blessed to hear from so many students and alumni who share their gratitude for the opportunity, which wouldn’t be possible without the gifts of our philanthropic supporters.”
In celebration of “Day for HPU,” the university is hosting events in High Point and regional locations across the country, including an event at Witcher Athletic Center on campus during HPU’s women’s lacrosse game from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Registration is $15, with $5 going toward admission and $10 as a donation to the HPU Fund for Extraordinary Education.
