Students Perform with Chesapeake Shakespeare Company

HIGH POINT, N.C., July 9, 2019 – High Point University students are performing and working alongside the actors and crew at Chesapeake Shakespeare Company in Baltimore, Maryland this summer.

HPU’s Juliet Jacob and Madison Steiner are performing in Chesapeake Shakespeare Company’s “Macbeth” and “Love’s Labour’s Lost.” Both students are also participating in an all-intern production of “Richard III.” Steiner is playing Lady Anne and Richmond, and Jacob is playing Queen Elizabeth and Murderer No. 1.

“My experiences with CSC have been amazing so far,” says Steiner. “This program is unique because I am fully immersed in what it’s like to be part of a professional company. I have the opportunity to work on three shows and to participate in multiple workshops from stage combat and audition technique, to language and script analysis.”

Jacob will take on the role of Marcade in “Love’s Labour’s Lost” and worked as an ensemble member in “Macbeth.” Steiner will take on the role of Winter in “Love’s Labour’s Lost and played Young Macduff in “Macbeth.”

“This internship has been an incredible experience to learn firsthand about the professional world of theatre,” says Jacob. “We are gaining experiences to put on our resumes and are experiencing intensive workshops, learning side-by-side with experienced actors and teaching children in camp settings. It’s been the perfect way to push my love for the art form while growing as a performer.”

The “Macbeth” show ended last month, and “Love’s Labour’s Lost” continues through July 28.
