High Point University’s Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority partnered with PNAC, a local after-school organization, to host its annual Trunk-or-Treat event for community children.
HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 1, 2019 – High Point University’s Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority partnered with PNAC, a local after-school organization, to host its annual Trunk-or-Treat event for community children on Oct. 29.
Sorority members decorated the trunks of their cars and provided candy for the children of PNAC. Children dressed up and spent the evening going from trunk to trunk and interacting with members of ZTA.
“Partnerships and collaborations from students, faculty and staff at High Point University have been an integral part of the success of D-UP’s Washington Street Enrichment Program ‘PNAC,’” said Jakki Davis, CEO and executive director of D-UP. “We are thrilled especially since it is a community effort. We believe in the proverb, “it takes a village to raise a child.” We are fortunate to have a large array of support and service from HPU.”
“It is encouraging to see HPU students serving in the city,” said Clarice Sigsworth, an HPU AmeriCorps VISTA who works at D-UP and helped coordinate the event with ZTA. “The D-UP kids are always excited for holiday events, and when the sisters of ZTA meet them with the same energy, something special happens.”
