High Point University is recognized as one of the healthiest employers of the Triad, in part, because of resources like the 24-hour employee wellness center.
HIGH POINT, N.C., Jan. 8, 2020 – High Point University has been recognized for its commitment to promoting employee wellness and named No. 2 on Springbuk’s 2019 Healthiest Employers of the Triad list.
Each year, the health analytics solution company Springbuk, recognizes leaders in corporate wellness in cities across the U.S. The 2019 winners were evaluated based on six key areas of health and wellbeing, including culture and leadership commitment, foundational components, strategic planning, communication and marketing, programming and intervention, and reporting and analytics.
In addition to having a full-time employee dedicated solely to employee wellness, the university has maintained high participation numbers in wellness programs over the years, with currently 75% of the workforce participating and an 88% satisfaction rating among employees.
“Our employees are dedicated to living holistically and serving as an example for students to emulate during their time at HPU and beyond,” says Melissa Marion, director of employee wellness. “The HPU Wellness Program provides a well-rounded approach to health and wellness and keeps employees engaged through each of life’s milestones.”
On campus, HPU employees have access to complimentary annual health screenings, an employee 5K, meditation and walking groups, and a 24-hour employee fitness center.
