|Dr. Shaun "Wes" Davenport, Associate Professor of Management, also serves as Chair of the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship for the Earl N. Phillips School of Business at High Point University. His areas of specialization are leadership and leadership development, survey development, work teams, recruitment and selection, training and development, assessment of individual differences (e.g., personality, attitudes, and values), and organizational culture and change.
Arriving at HPU in 2008, Dr. Davenport has taught courses in organizational behavior and human resource management, leadership, and work teams in organizations. Past and present service to HPU includes the University’s Academic Planning Committee, Director of the MBA Program, Strategic Planning Committee, Tenure and Promotion Standards Committee, QEP Steering Committee, and the SACS Leadership Team.
Dr. Davenport has been published in The Journal of Social Psychology, Personality and Individual Differences, and The International Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology. His recent research involves narcissism in the workforce and perspective taking to reduce team conflict. He has presented his research at the American Psychological Society, the Academy of Management, and frequently at the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Dr. Davenport earned a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Tennessee, a Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology from East Carolina University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Auburn University.
