|Dr. Paul Forshey, Chair of the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship, and Assistant Professor of Management, focuses his research on strategic management particularly in entrepreneurial and small innovative firms. He is interested in strategic choice, firm performance issues, and organizational development. His current research investigates the funding and development of innovative firms as they grow, transition from private to public entities, and form alliances. Dr. Forshey had a refereed article about positive ethical organizations published in the Journal of Business Ethics. He presented those findings at the Academy of Management Annual Conference.
The Earl N. Phillips School of Business (PSB) was most pleased to place Dr. Forshey on the PSB Strategic Planning Committee to utilize his strategic management skills. Past and present service to HPU also includes the Assurance of Learning Committee and QEP Steering Committee.
Dr. Forshey joined HPU in 2012 after completing his Ph.D. and working in the corporate world. His past positions include working for:
• Ingersoll-Rand Corporation as a product support manager
• Komatsu America International Company as a business support manager and a customer support / distributor development manager
• Hitachi Construction Machinery America as a regional product support manager
He also has extensive work experience as a corporate trainer. He hones those same educator skills in the HPU classroom where he now teaches strategic management and organizational behavior / HR courses.
Dr. Forshey earned his Ph.D. in Management Science at the University of Wisconsin. At the Pennsylvania State University he earned an M.Ed. in Vocational Education with a Concentration in Organizational Development and Training and two concurrent B.S. degrees in Vocational Education and Rehabilitation Serves Education (Undergraduate Counseling degree).
