|Dr. Dave Tofanelli was named Assistant Professor of the Practice of Management for the Earl N. Phillips School of Business (PSB) in the fall of 2016. Dr. Tofanelli was named Director of the HPU MBA Program in the fall of 2017 and became Chair of the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship in August 2018.
Prior to accepting a full-time position with High Point University, Dr. Tofanelli was the Practice Administrator of the largest cardiology practice in central North Carolina, headquartered in High Point with practice sites across the region. Before this, Dr. Tofanelli was Managing Partner of his own consulting firm, a multi-faceted healthcare management consulting group with special expertise in health plan contracting, strategic planning, and executive coaching. Before beginning his consulting firm, Dr. Tofanelli enjoyed ten years as a senior executive with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, where he was responsible for overseeing their national contracting effort. Dr. Tofanelli’s other experience includes a vice president position at MedMark Services, Inc., overseeing the construction, staffing and operations of outpatient medical treatment facilities. Dr. Tofanelli was also the chief executive officer of one of Kaiser Permanente’s largest medical treatment facilities.
Dr. Tofanelli earned his doctorate in organizational leadership from Northcentral University, his MS in systems management from the University of Denver, his MBA from Golden Gate University, and his BSBA from Our Lady of the Lake University. He is the author of three books, "Communication in Organizations", "Communication in a Business Setting", and "Cancer a Marriage and a Miracle", as well as numerous articles on leadership, communications theory and health care policy. Dr. Tofanelli has also been an invited guest speaker at numerous professional conferences. Dr. Tofanelli is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the Medical Group Management Association.
