Kayak Roll & Skills Practice - Millis Pool
People from the HPU and surrounding community are invited to practice their roll and other paddling skills. On most evenings, no formal instruction will be provided.
Time: 4:00-6:00pm, Sundays

     November 8, 15, 22   NOTE: Nov 1 session cancelled
     December 6
Location: HPU Millis Athletic & Convocation Center Pool, located on the downhill side of the Millis Center. Please use the parking lot at the bottom of the hill, unless otherwise posted on this webpage.
Fee: Free for HPU students, faculty, staff; $2 for non-HPU folks
Sign-up: No reservation necessary

Climbing wallSunday, October 11: Paintball - Sedalia, NC
An afternoon of paintball on a competition field by ourselves! The more students who participate, the more fun we have! Dress appropriately for the weather (long pants and sleeves, camos are welcome). Mask, goggles, paint gun, unlimited compressed air, and paint balls provided.
Fee: $20 per person, due when you sign up

Wednesday, November 4: HPU College Night @ Climbing Wall
Join us for a night of climbing, fun, and fellowship as we conquer the walls at Tumblebees! Transportation provided for the first 14 people who request it.
Fee: $5 per person, due when you sign up


HikingSaturday, November 7: Zip, Hike & Dine - Pilot Mountain State Park, King & Mt. Airy, NC
Nothing is more beautiful than hiking in the fall with the leaves changing colors and views as far as the eye can see! Includes a groovy dinner in typical Goober's-style. Dress warm!

Fire
November 13-15: Horseback Riding - Gatlinburg, TN
Lose yourself in the Smoky Mountains on 2 horseback rides. Breathe in the crisp, cool mornings that make you want to stay forever. Warm yourself by the fire in a condo with a million-dollar view!

September 4-6: Surfing & Camping - Outer Banks, NC
Travel to North Carolina's Outer Banks for a surfing extravaganza! With lessons on Saturday and Sunday, you'll be  hangin' ten before you know it!






Big Sweep
September 12-13: Big Sweep River Kayak & Clean-up - Dan River, NC
Once again, the OAC will partner with the Tarheel Paddlers Association, the Dan River Company, Hanging Rock State Park rangers, and local volunteers to clean a 15-mile section of the Dan River in Stokes County. No kayaking experience necessary.


RaftingSeptember 27-28: Whitewater Rafting on the Gauley - Summersville, WV
Every fall, Summersville Dam unleashes the fury that is the Gauley River. With more than 50 named rapids, and 7 Class V+ rapids, it will be a test of courage, will, and stamina! How do you roll?
