Within certain building resides a professional full-time Resident Director.  This Resident Director, known to the students as the RD, is responsible for the basic maintenance, cleanliness, disciplinary, and day to day operation of his or her residence hall.

At High Point University, each residential building is assigned a Resident Director, with some covering more than one building.  

Each hall/floor has a resident assistant. Resident Assistants are upperclassmen students who serve as a para-professional staff member.  Resident Assistants have been carefully selected and trained to serve as role models, peer helpers, and provide information to their residents.  Resident Assistants run hall programs to support their residential community, serve as a liaison between the student and the Student Life Staff, and if necessary, write disciplinary reports to help the Student life staff constructively correct violations of the High Point University Conduct Code.
