Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Analytical/Physical

The Department of Chemistry at High Point University invites applications for one tenure-track position in analytical or physical chemistry at the Assistant Professor rank with a start date of August 2015. Preference will be given to candidates with interdisciplinary interests bridging into bio or nano/materials areas. Teaching responsibilities include general chemistry as well as advanced courses in analytical, instrumental and/or physical chemistry. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to develop an active research program involving undergraduates. The department supports degree programs in chemistry and biochemistry with a significant number of students preparing for careers in the health professions. The successful applicant will have access to startup and institutional research funds, laboratory, and office space, and will collaborate with faculty on the design of a new science complex scheduled to be completed in 2018. High Point University is a member of the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering consortium in Greensboro located about 20 minutes from campus. Instrumentation, laboratory /office space and collaborative opportunities exist with JSNN faculty members.

A Ph.D. in analytical, physical or materials is required and postdoctoral experience is preferred.
