Tenure Track Faculty Positions in Organic and Biochemistry

The Department of Chemistry at High Point University invites applications for two tenure-track positions in (1.) organic and (2.) biochemistry at the Assistant Professor rank with a start date of August 2014. Teaching responsibilities include introductory chemistry as well as introductory and advanced courses in organic and biochemistry, respectively. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to develop an active research program involving undergraduates. The department supports degree programs in Chemistry and Biochemistry with a significant number of students preparing for careers in the health professions. The successful applicant will have access to startup and institutional research funds, laboratory, and office space, and will collaborate with faculty on the design of a new science complex scheduled to be completed in 2017.

High Point University, recently named the South’s number one “up and coming” school and number one in undergraduate teaching is in the midst of an exciting academic and cultural transformation, including the University’s launch of new programs in the health professions. A Ph.D. in organic, biochemistry or a closely related field is required and postdoctoral experience is preferred.
