She became an editor during the spring semester of her sophomore year and writes a column titled, Secondhand News. Taking her writings from a book she wrote for her sisters, Jordan uses Secondhand News to share thoughts and offer advice on surviving college. Although she is not quite sure as to the specific path her career will take, she is very interested in radio. This summer she interned with a country radio station in Salisbury, Maryland and really enjoyed her time there. Jordan studied abroad in Rome, Italy this past semester and is so excited to be back at HPU for her final year. She looks forward to being a senior and is happy to be reunited with the Campus Chronicle team!
Chelsie Gastright, Organizations Editor
Chelsie first joined the Chronicle in 2011 as a staff writer after transferring in from a small private school in South Carolina. At the time, Chelsie was a junior and a Psychology major. She had no formal journalism experience but loved to write, so she thought she would give the Chronicle a try. After the first issue, Chelsie fell in love with the journalism field and everything that came with it. She loved it so much she actually declared a double major half way through her first semester at High Point and is now studying both Psychology and Journalism. After writing for a little more than a semester, Chelsie was given the opportunity to be the Organizations editor. She took the opportunity and ran with it, loving every second of the section and the people she gets to meet through the articles. Other than writing for the Chronicle, Chelsie spends her time as a violinist in the chamber orchestra here on campus. Chelsie hopes to pursue journalism or something in human relations after college to help her mix both the psychology and journalism foundations that she has studied throughout the years.
