Onward with Faithful Courage: A Senior Send-Off
Appropriate dress for this event is business attire.
The program will be broadcast via closed-circuit television at the R. G. Wanek Center, Extraordinaire Cinema.
Guests are encouraged to take advantage of the shuttle service to the program. Shuttles will begin running at 9:30 a.m. from the parking lot adjacent to the Congdon School of Health Sciences and Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy. The shuttles will make a continuous loop from the parking lot to the Millis Center.
Parking for guests with special needs will be available on a first-come, first-served basis from the Congdon Hall parking lot. Guests will be transported on wheelchair-accessible shuttles and dropped off at the front of the Millis Center.
The class photo and toast will be immediately following the ceremony at the Alumni Avenue Amphitheater behind Cottrell Hall.

Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church is located on the corner of Chestnut Drive and Westchester Drive (1225 Chestnut Drive) in High Point. Parking will be available at the church.
Guests must enter the Church with everyone in their party in order to be seated together. Saved seats are not permitted. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we try to accommodate as many families as possible.
Parking will be available for guests with special needs on a first-come, first-served basis adjacent to the church. Drivers must display state-issued placards or license plates to enter the parking lot. Please enter the first entrance on the right coming from Westchester Drive.
Flash photography and video cameras are not permitted inside the church during the service.
The Graduation Ceremony is for High Point University candidates for graduation, their families and guests, and university faculty, staff, students and special guests. It is not open to the general public.

Guests are required to park at Oak Hollow Mall on Eastchester Drive in High Point. Complimentary Shuttles to campus will begin running at 6:30 a.m.. The shuttles will make a continuous loop from the pick-up location to the High Point University campus until 2:30pm.
Parking will be available on campus for guests with special needs on a first-come, first-served basis. Drivers must display state-issued placards or license plates to enter the parking lot. Please enter campus at Boundary Avenue from University Parkway (formerly N. College Drive). Guests will be transported on wheelchair-accessible shuttles and dropped off at the Slane Student Center fountain.
In the event of inclement weather, the Graduation Ceremony will be split into two ceremonies that will be held in the James H. and Jesse E. Millis Athletic Convocation Center. Ceremony 1 will honor our Doctoral, Graduate, and BA candidates and will begin at 8:30am. Graduating Students should arrive by 7:45 a.m. Ceremony 2 will honor our BS and BSBA candidates and will begin at 11:30am. Graduating Students should arrive by 10:45 a.m. Due to space limitations in the Millis Center, each candidate for graduation is permitted a maximum of two rain guest tickets. The graduate will be required to show their Passport Card for entry.Rain Tickets may be picked up on the Slane Student Center track on April 30 from 8:30am-7:00pm. From May 1 to May 7, tickets may be picked up during normal office hours (8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday and 10:00am-2:00pm Saturday) at the Slane Student Center Concierge Desk.
Please cooperate as HPU employs heightened security measures due to the renown of the Commencement speaker. Guests may be inconvenienced with additional security checks.
Since large crowds are expected for this event, plan to arrive early to find a seat. Guests will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Special needs seating will be available at the front, left of the lawn (as you view the stage) on a first-come, first-served basis. This seating is for guests in wheelchairs and for those who have difficulty walking. We ask that only one other guest sit with the special needs guest as seating in this section is limited.

Due to the formality of the ceremony, noisemakers and pets will not be permitted.
Please observe the rope barricades and closed areas. Guests are asked to honor requests made by Junior Marshals.
Roberts Hall, Wrenn Hall and Smith Library are closed during the Graduation Ceremony.
Restrooms are available at the Hayworth Fine Arts Center, Slane Student Center and beside Wrenn Hall.
Coffee and food will be available to purchase in the Slane Student Center. Bottled water will be available at the Promenade kiosk.
Temperatures vary widely in May, so be prepared for various weather scenarios.
Regardless of the weather, the Graduation Ceremony will be broadcast via closed-circuit television at the Hayworth Fine Arts Center, the Wanek Center Extraordinaire Cinema, and Phillips Hall.
A photographer from Lifetouch will be on site to take photographs of each candidate for graduation at their special moment of recognition. Pictures can be ordered online, by phone or by mail. Lifetouch can be contacted at 800-505-9496.
Photographing candidates for graduation during the Graduation Ceremony is permissible. The platform area is restricted and may not be used for photographs. Please be respectful of boundaries; they have been put in place to prevent injury.
First aid service is available during the Graduation Ceremony. Anyone in need of assistance should contact uniformed officers or visit the Information/Security Station located next to Finch Hall. Security can be reached at 336-841-9111.
