Commencement 2016

Rain Plan

The following details will apply IF AND ONLY IF the ceremony is moved inside the James H. and Jesse E. Millis Athletic and Convocation Center. All other details can be found at www.highpoint.edu.

If poor weather forces a move inside, the 2016 Graduation Ceremony will be held in the James H. and Jesse E. Millis Athletic and Convocation Center. The ceremony will begin at the delayed time of 9:30 a.m. Graduates and participating members of the faculty should arrive by 8:30 a.m.

All guests  are required to have tickets to enter the Millis Center.  The graduate will be required to show their Passport Card. Graduates should enter the front doors on the left side of the Millis Center near the concessions stand. Guests should enter the main doors in the front/center of the building.

Participating faculty members will NOT be required to have tickets. They must be dressed in cap and gown for admission. They will need to enter the front doors on the left side of the Millis Center near the concessions stand.

For those without tickets who are unable to access the Millis Center, HPU will have a live broadcast of the ceremony available in the Hayworth Fine Arts Center, Phillips Hall, Slane Student Center and the R.G. Wanek Center. No tickets are required.

For those not wishing to come to campus a live stream of the ceremony will be available at www.highpoint.edu/live

The parking areas around the Millis Center, Norcross Graduate School, and the R.G. Wanek Center will be closed to the public with the exception of parking for guests with disabilities. You will need a designated parking pass or a state issues placard or license plate to enter this area.

Participating faculty will be asked to park behind the Plato S. Wilson Commerce building and will be shuttled to the Millis Center.

General parking and shuttle service will be available at the Oak Hollow Mall. Shuttle buses will be available to transport guests from the mall to campus. Guests with Graduation Rain Tickets will be taken to the Millis Center. All other guests will be taken to the Slane Center shuttle stop.

Thank you for your understanding. We will make every possible effort to hold the graduation ceremony outside. An announcement will be made ONLY IF weather forces the ceremony inside.
