Dr. Doug Hall, Assistant Director of Career & Professional Development, has served as an adjunct instructor since 2015 in the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication. Previously he came to High Point University as a Student Success Coach helping first year students with their academic transition to college. Dr. Hall worked closely with students majoring in Communication, which made a natural progression for him to serve in an instructor capacity.
Dr. Hall brings to the classroom an inviting and collaborative personality by understanding the needs of students. Holding close to his heart his days as a struggling undergraduate student gives him a keen insight and compassion for the student population he serves. Additionally, he leverages his current role in Career and Professional Development by tying in the necessity of communication skills that will prepare students for their professional path by way of presentations, networking, interviews and other facets of communication to help succeed in the workplace.
In addition to Dr. Hall’s experience at High Point University, he has served in various capacities in higher education, healthcare, as well as local and federal government consulting. When off the clock, Dr. Hall enjoys quality time with his wife and three children, the driving force of why he works hard and gives his time to his students and the university community.
Dr. Hall earned his Ph.D. in Educational Management from Hampton University (VA). He received his M.S. in Instructional Technology from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and his B.A. in Communication from Indiana University.
