On the 22nd of October 2019, HPU will join the city of High Point in commemoration of 400 Years of African American History with a lecture by religious studies professor, Dr. William D. Hart.
Dr. Hart currently holds the Margaret W. Harmon Chair at Macalester College and researches the intersection of religion, ethics, and politics. He is the author of Afro-Eccentricity: Beyond the Standard Narrative of Black Religion; Black Religion: Malcolm X, Julius Lester, and Jan Willis; and Edward Said and the Religious Effects of Culture.
This event is co-sponsored by St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in High Point.
