Please join us on March 29th at 3:30pm in the Hayworth Chapel as pianist and HPU instructor Ben Blozan leads an inspiring and accessible exploration of French composers Gabriel Fauré, Maurice Ravel, and Francis Poulenc. The fact that these artists formed a three-generation lineage of teacher-and-pupil affords an added dimension of interest: How much did the teacher rub off on the student? How much did they each go their own way? Performed in historical succession with help from a talented array of fellow faculty members: Matthew Kiefer, violin; Ryan Graebert, cello; and Lissie Shanahan, flute.
The program will include:
Piano quartet no. 1 in C minor….Gabriel Fauré
Le tombeau de Couperin….Maurice Ravel
Sonata for Flute and Piano….Francis Poulenc
