Johann Strauss II, known as “The Waltz King,” was the musical star of Vienna, Austria at the end of the 19th century. His comic operetta Die Fledermaus (The Bat) captures the elegance and opulence of pre-World War I Viennese society. Students enrolled in Opera Scenes will perform a concert version of this beautiful and whimsical operetta, sung in English and accompanied by piano and strings. The performance will include digital designs by Brad Lambert, Assistant Professor of New Media. Approximate run time: 2 hours; free and open to the public, family friendly.
