Chinese pianist, Lin Ye, is the winner of the 3rd annual, 2017 HPU Piano Competition. Ye left his native country, China, to study at the Hochschuler fur Musik in Hannover, Germany in 2008 at age of 15. He graduated with a master’s degree from Hannover and is currently working on an artist diploma at the Cleveland Institute of Music under the guidance of Antonio Pompa-Baldi.
Ye has won many competitions throughout his career. These include 1st place in the 71st Anthony Steinway International Youth Piano Competition, 5th place in the 13th Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists, 1st place in the International Anton Rubinstein Competition in Dusseldorf, the audience prize of the Chopin-Gesellschaft International Piano Competition, 1st place in the Troisdorf International Piano Competition, 1st place in the Chopin International Piano Competition Hartford CT, 3rd place in the Artist Series National Competition in Sarasota, Florida, and 3rd place in the New York Piano Competition 2017.
