HPU Chamber Music Series: Percussion Plus

February 10 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Hayworth Chapel

This intimate concert, featuring keyboard percussion as the common thread, weaves together works by HPU percussion and composition faculty, Dr. Nathan Daughtrey, with works of others. The mellow tones of the marimba and vibraphone will be married with the sounds of the flute, oboe, bassoon, euphonium and electronics. The talents of several HPU instrumental faculty members will be displayed.

HPU Chamber Music Series: Austrian and German Music for Flute and Piano

Dr. Robert Hallquist, associate professor of piano, and Dr. Laura Stevens, instructor of music and applied flute, will present an evening of works by Austrian and German composers. This concert will be a rare opportunity to hear the beautiful melodies of the last piece of chamber music penned by Richard Strauss, one of the best-known German Romantic composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

HPU Chamber Ensembles Concert

The High Point University Chamber Ensembles will present the Kaleidoscope concert. This concert will feature various small instrumental ensembles, including the Flute Ensemble, Woodwind Chamber Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, and Chamber Orchestra in a non-stop musical event. In a Kaleidoscope concert, multiple ensembles are positioned throughout the performance hall and perform one after another with little to no break. Spring Choral Concert
