James is a co-founder and the founding board chair of The Tracing Center, an organization created to increase awareness of the extent of the nation’s complicity in slavery and the transatlantic slave trade and to inspire acknowledgment, dialogue and active response to this history and its many legacies. Holocaust Survivor – Hank Brodt

Hank Brodt, is a native of Boryslaw, Poland and was born in 1925. Between 1943 and 1945, Brodt survived five Nazi prison camps and a forced labor camp. One of the camps was featured in the movie Schindler’s List. When World War II was coming to an end the Nazis took many of the camp survivors on forced death marches. Jacqueline Osherow was raised in Philadelphia and received her BA from Radcliffe College, Harvard University, and her PhD from Princeton University. On March 3, 1968 during his 19th reconnaissance mission in Vietnam, Lt. Clebe McClary was critically wounded by an enemy attack.
