The High Point University Piano Competition brings 3 finalists to campus for our September 9th event to compete for cash prizes.  Finalists are selected by the HPU piano faculty from a pool of submissions.  The three finalists will then compete for first, second and third place cash prizes determined by outside judges brought to campus. Voyager Golden Record 40th Anniversary Concert

The Department of Music celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Voyager spacecraft's Golden Record with performances of selections from the disc. In 1977 the Voyager spacecraft launched carrying a gold-plated phonograph record with images and sounds that portray the diversity of life and culture on earth.  The concert features music by Bach, Beethoven, Stravinsky, Chuck Berry, Louis Armstrong,  Blind Willie Johnson, and folk music from around the world. Faculty Recital: JW Turner with Mayumi Osada, “Traditional and Popular Music of Japan.”

Opera Scenes Concert
