Friday at 5:00pm. HPU welcomes Wayne Koestenbaum, a Harvard University graduate with an MA in creative writing from Johns Hopkins University and a PhD from Princeton University. Opera Scenes Concert

Although opera is traditionally viewed as a European art form, U.S.-based composers have made significant contributions to the genre. Students enrolled in Opera Scenes (MUS 1360-01) will perform scenes from operas written by some of America’s most famous composers, such as The Tender Land (Aaron Copland), Porgy and Bess (George Gershwin), and Candide (Leonard Bernstein).
