Performance Data

All undergraduate students who complete degrees in elementary education and special education are required to pass the Praxis II Specialty Area Exam in order to be eligible for N.C. Teacher licensure.  This comprehensive multiple choice and essay examination is a standardized test typically taken at the end of the four year program of study. Questions include items related to theory and pedagogy, instructional practices and application of elementary education or special education content and curriculum.  The tables below also reflect those students electing to complete Praxis Specialty Exams in other areas in order to add additional teaching licenses in the areas of Reading Specialist, Mathematics, Physics, and Special Education:  Severe Populations.   Pass rates for the last three years are as follows:
