To be eligible for the Wellness Medical Plan (annual premium savings), employees will need to earn 1100 points. Employees who earn the 1100 points, between March 1, 2017 – February 28, 2018, will be eligible for the Wellness Medical Plan which is a savings of $600 off the employee portion of the Standard Medical Plan premium for the 2017-2018 benefit plan year.
Your health plan is committed to helping you achieve your best health status. Participation in the wellness program are available to all employees. If you think you might be unable to meet a standard for a reward under this wellness program, you might qualify for an opportunity to earn the same reward by different means. Contact the Director of Employee Wellness and we will work with you (and, if you wish, with your doctor) to find a wellness program with the same reward that is right for you in light of your health status.

This points structure is for current employees and those who are hired from March 1, 2017 through October 31, 2017. Any employee hired from November 1, 2017, to February 28, 2018, will be grandfathered into the Wellness Insurance Plan for the 2018-2019 benefits year. Anyone hired after March 1, 2017, will automatically be enrolled into the HPU Medical plan at the wellness rate for the remainder of the 2017-2018 benefits year, but will need to begin accruing points to earn the reward the 2018-2019 benefits plan year.

The Biometric Screening must be completed between March 1, 2017 and November 17, 2017 to be eligible for the 2017/2018 incentive cycle. During the 2017/2018 Incentive Points Cycle, there will be 2 on-site screenings. The next on-site screening will be held on September 27-29, 2017, in the Webb Conference Center Ballroom. Flu shot registration is open; our Flu Shot Clinic will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 8:00am to 4:00pm in the Webb Conference Center Ballroom. If you are currently on the HPU Medical Plan (or will be by October 1) or currently have BCBSNC, Medicare, or Medicaid insurance, you may attend the event free of charge. If you are not a subscriber to one of these insurance plans and would like to participate in our Flu Shot Clinic, please reach out to me for additional details.

Maxim Health Systems powered by BioIQ will send an email notification confirming your account creation and screening appointment.
As a reminder, Maxim Health Systems will only be offering the Quadrivalent vaccine this year. In the past, we offered the Trivalent vaccine. The Quadrivalent vaccine offers broader protection, as it covers 4 strains of the influenza virus, two A strains and two B strains, while Trivalent only covers two A strains and one B strain.
If you are unable to attend the on-site flu clinic, you may attend walk-in clinics at your pharmacy or your primary care physician’s office; make sure that you have your insurance card with you.
Employees who receive a flu shot between March 1, 2017 and February 28, 2018, will earn 25 points towards the wellness incentive. If you attended the onsite clinic, your points will be added after the information has been processed. If you receive your vaccine off-site, you can log your information into the forms located under the “Incentives Details” tab on the Employee Wellness portal.
