Points Program

Employees who earn the 1100 points, between March 1, 2019 – February 29, 2020, will be eligible for the Wellness Medical Plan which is a savings of $600 off the employee portion of the Standard Medical Plan premium for the 2020-2021 benefit plan year.

Your health plan is committed to helping you achieve your best health status. Participation in the wellness program are available to all employees. If you think you might be unable to meet a standard for a reward under this wellness program, you might qualify for an opportunity to earn the same reward by different means. Contact the Director of Employee Wellness and we will work with you (and, if you wish, with your doctor) to find a wellness program with the same reward that is right for you in light of your health status.

Please note the following requirements:

  • The Biometric Screening is required and accounts for 50 points. Additionally, if an individual is found to be at risk for Metabolic Syndrome, they will need to meet with the HPU Employee Wellness health coach. The biometric screening must be completed by November 17, 2019.
  • To earn the additional points, employees have a variety of activities to choose from including use of the Employee Wellness Center, completing education modules, and coordinated activities on campus such as Walking Wednesdays, Healthy Seminars, or Wellness Challenges.
  • The biometric screening is open to all employees regardless of benefits status.

This points structure is for current employees and those who are hired from March 1, 2019 through October 31, 2019. Any employee hired from November 1, 2019, to February 29, 2020, will be grandfathered into the Wellness Incentive for the 2020-2021 benefits year. Anyone hired after March 1, 2019, will automatically be enrolled into the HPU Medical plan at the wellness rate for the remainder of the 2019-2020 benefits year, but will need to begin accruing points to earn the reward the 2020-2021 benefits plan year.
