Early Decision 2

01.16.2013

Greetings Future Panthers!

I hope that you are having a fantastic 2013 so far.  Seniors, I am sure that you are having a great last semester of high school.  Right now, you are more than likely starting to finalize your college decision, which means that this is a very exciting time for you.   I hope that decision leads you here to HPU!

Today, I wanted to let you know a little more about a new program that we have started here in the High Point University Admissions.  That program is Early Decision 2, or ED 2 for short.  ED 2 allows students that find High Point University later than our regular pool of students to show a commitment to attending HPU.  If you know that High Point is the place for you and you will absolutely come here if you are accepted, but you haven’t applied yet, I highly suggest applying ED 2.

This option is not reserved just for students that have not applied.  If you have already submitted an application to High Point, you are welcome to switch to the ED 2 plan.  All you have to do is contact your admissions counselor to request this change.

“Why would I want to do this?” you might ask yourself.  The answer is simple.  ED 2 provides you with a higher priority than Early Action and Regular Decision students throughout the housing process.  This means that if you have a specific residence hall that you would like to live in, switching to ED 2 will provide you a better chance of living in that hall.

If you have not seen our housing options, please check out our residence hall tours here:

As you can see, we have some of the nicest college housing around, so if there is one that you like more, ED 2 will give you the best chance in getting there.  The deadline for ED 2 is February 1st, so if you are interested, make the switch as soon as you can!

Please know that a switch to ED 2 is a binding commitment.  It means that you are going to come to High Point University no matter what, so make sure that you are confident in your decision.  If you have any questions about this process, please contact your admissions counselor right away.

Have a great day, and I hope to see you on campus soon!

-Lars
