6.21 office buildingAs I was leaving work on my first day, I turned around just before crossing over Lexington Avenue and smiled back at my new office building. I think I must have still been beaming from the excellent first day of work I had. Shortly after I arrived on my first morning, I met the other two girls who were interning for Brand Influencers with me, and they couldn’t have been nicer. Both girls were bright students, one from NYU and the other, a senior my age from Cornell. I was eager to work alongside them. We went to lunch with the CEO and our direct boss, Jason, and took the opportunity to get to know each other better. It was really quite an interesting lunch because Jason took the time to get to know each of us and figure out what our specific interests were. He explained how by getting to know his co-workers (and in our case getting to know the interns) it would help him assign tasks and projects more strategically, and in turn we would produce better work.
