Cable Television Service
It is our goal to ensure that every campus resident has access to cable television. Through a contract with Time Warner Cable, we offer the standard analog cable package to every bedroom and most living rooms on campus. You can find more information about Time Warner Cable including a list of channels by clicking the Logo.
If your bedroom or living room does not have a cable outlet or the outlet is damaged
Make sure that the jack does not share an outlet with the ethernet ports in your wall and that the jack is not hidden behind furniture. If you can find no cable jack or if your cable jack is broken or damaged in any way, please submit a ticket to the eSupport Center. We will have a cable jack installed or repaired as quickly as possible.
If you are not receiving any channels or if you are only receiveing a few channels
Your television may not be programmed yet. Most TV's or their remote controls have a MENU button which will bring up several options, one of which should be input/setup. Make sure that you are set to receive channels via cable and not antenna. Many TV's also have automatic channel searching features which will find any available channels. If you have programmed your television, and it still does not work, or if you are having trouble programming your television, call 841-4571 or contact the eSupport Center.
If your picture quality is fuzzy
Try swapping out the coaxial cable connecting your TV to the jack with a roommate's cable. If this clears up the picture quality, you will need to purchase a new coaxial cable. They are available at Wal-Mart, Target, and Radio Shack. If your picture quality does not clear, please contact the eSupport Center. We will have a technician fix the problem as quickly as possible.
If you would like additional channels, digital cable, etc.
You should call Time Warner Cable and set up an account with them. You will be responsible for paying the difference in price between the standard package and the package you choose. TWC can be reached at 886-4195 or 1-800-693-1528. An operator will walk you through the process of having additional services piped to your room.
