Junior Hardware Support Specialist
Office of Information Technology Position Reports To: (Title) Mr. Scott Moffitt FLSA: Exempt
Position Summary:
The Junior Hardware Support Specialist is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all hardware (including computers, printers, scanners, etc.) at the two High Point University campus locations. A person in this position will be expected to have technical and interpersonal skills, offering prime level customer service to the university community. Other responsibilities include registration setup and monitoring, as well as on-campus student support.
Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent
• COMPTIA A+ certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

• Minimum one year of prior related and technical work experience.
• Minimum one year Windows XP experience
• Experience managing and maintaining MS Office products
• Good communication skills with clients (Students, Faculty and Staff)
• Must have the ability to set priorities, plan/organize, and carry out PC installations and user support in an efficient manner.
• Must have good team participation and skills in the following areas: Quality improvement, tactical execution, problem solving and analysis, and consulting.

Note:
Periodic changes to the responsibilities of this position may be exercised at the discretion of the University. The person hired for this function will also be the backup for one other position in the Office of Information Technology. According to business continuation office procedures, in the absence of the primary provider for any service in the Office of Information Technology, the backup person will temporarily assume the daily responsibilities assigned to the otherwise interrupted function.

Resident Director
High Point University’s Office of Student Life has immediate openings for additional Resident Directors due to a growth on campus. This is a twelve month position with benefits. The Resident Director will reside in an apartment in the assigned building.
Job Description Summary:
The Resident Director will be responsible for the management and oversight of a residential building and/or university apartments.
Essential Functions:
• Develops programs in cooperation with the resident assistants designed to improve the building’s environment and promote sound study habits, self-determination, and a sense of community;
• Is administratively responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and management of the building and the safety of the residents;
• Is responsible for the opening and closing of their of their building during breaks;
• Is directly responsible, with the support of the Director of Residential Life, for the supervision of the resident assistants in the building;
• Assumes the responsibility of the selection and training of the resident assistants;
• Is responsible for seeing that University rules and regulations are understood and followed by the students in the building, including administrative discipline;
• Is responsible to attend, in a timely manner, all meetings and events as designated by the Vice President of Student Life;
• Sees that all maintenance needs are properly and promptly reported and corrected;
• Serves as the Evening Administrator on a rotating basis to supervise RA’s on duty while working with security as well.
• Supports counseling services under the supervision of the Director of Counseling Services;
• Serves, as needed, as an advisor to students groups on campus;
• Assumes other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required.
• Minimum of one to three years of residence life or resident advisor experience
• Excellent communication, organization, planning and team building skills
• Ability to multi-task and set priorities
• Ability to develop exciting and relevant programs for students

High Point University is reorganizing its security department and is seeking quality officers for all shifts. Salary will be based on level of experience.

• HS diploma or GED
• At least one year security experience preferred and/or LE experience within the past five years

• No misdemeanor criminal convictions within the past 5 years, no felony convictions

Video Producer
High Point University's Nido Qubein School of Communication has an immediate opening for a staff Video Producer.
Summary:
The successful candidate will write, shoot and edit internal and external standard and hi-definition video projects. Candidate must have strong video production credits and familiarity with leading editing, software packages, particularly Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools, After Effects, and Smoke. The candidate must supervise and work with students and university staff in a collaborative manner. (Minimum credentials: BA with significant professional credits required. Candidates with MA may also have the possibility of teaching.) The individual will report to the Director of the Nido Qubein School of Communication. Finalists must submit a portfolio of their professional work.
Essential Functions:
  • Produce professional quality professional videos for High Point University.
  • Assist the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication Technical Operations Manager in coordinating the use of equipment and facilities
  • Supervise student workers
  • Ensure the proper use of equipment and supplies
  • Support faculty in their production-related teaching activities


Minimum Requirements:
  • Educational requirements: BA/Masters degree preferred and required to teach for additional compensation
