Healthy Living: Exercise and Nutrition Learning Community

[General Interest, Sciences] College of Arts & Sciences, School of Health Sciences, School of Education

The Healthy Living Learning Community offers first year students an opportunity to pursue a wellness-focused lifestyle with others who share their passion for balancing nutrition and exercise.  In addition to living and learning with fellow first year students in an environment that promotes wellness in all aspects–physical, emotional, intellectual, and social–you’ll enroll in a specially themed section of English 1103 (College Writing and Public Life) and Physical Education 1071 (Yoga).  You’ll also explore the scientific, social, and personal dimensions of wellness in Health Education 1200, Nutrition and Healthy Living.  Open to students in all prospective majors, the Healthy Living Learning Community enables students to successfully make the transition to college learning while maintaining their commitment to what the ancient Romans identified as the human ideal of mens sana in corpore sano: a sound mind in a healthy body.
