Workshop: Business Research for Papers

In this session, we will demonstrate how to find good quality articles and other narrative content on a business topic. In this hands-on session we will make use of three prominent business resources – ABInform, Business Insight and LEXIS-NEXIS. There are 50 million business establishments in the US. This hands-on session will use ReferenceUSA and LEXIS-NEXIS to demonstrate how to search and locate businesses and then how to narrow the focus of a search by industry, geographically or by other characteristic. Finally, we will download a list of companies and manipulate them in Microsoft Excel so that they can be used for job searching, finding internships or business projects. 30 to 45 minutes.
