High Point University

Jacqueline Somers Canter is a member of the voice faculty at High Point University. She earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in voice performance and music education at East Carolina University. She performed a number of operatic and musical theater roles for the East Carolina Opera Theatre, the East Carolina Summer Theatre and Greensboro College Opera Theatre. She has been a guest director for the Hickory Community Theatre and directed the outdoor drama From This Day Forward. She has performed with the Western Piedmont Symphony and Piedmont Artists. Ms. Canter is music director and soloist at Emmanual Lutheran Church in High Point, where she lives with her husband Bob and their children, Cameron and Katerina.
