Bill Cosby to Speak at HPU Commencement

HIGH POINT, N.C., April 26, 2007 – American icon Bill Cosby will deliver the commencement address to High Point University graduates and their families at 9 a.m. May 5 on the Roberts Hall Lawn.

Cosby is the third consecutive world figure to speak at HPU's commencement ceremony, following former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani in 2005 and Her Majesty Queen Noor in 2006.

Perhaps best known for "The Cosby Show," which aired from 1984 - 1992, and his books, "Fatherhood" and "Time Flies," Bill Cosby is widely regarded as one of the most popular personalities in America. His lifelong contributions to American culture were recognized with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1998 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in July 2002, America's highest civilian honor.
