High Point University Welcomes Strength and Conditioning Coach

HIGH POINT, N.C., July 25, 2007 - High Point University has hired Matt Jennings as the head coach of strength and conditioning.

Jennings will be responsible for presiding over various aspects of the program, including designing, organizing, implementing, supervising and evaluating the strength and conditioning programs for all the sport teams and student-athletes at High Point University. 

Originally from Eden, Jennings is a 1996 graduate of the University of North Carolina and earned a degree in physical education, exercise and sports sciences. Jennings received his master's in sport administration from the University of Tennessee and was also a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach. Previously, Jennings worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of South Carolina and Wake Forest University, and served as a strength and conditioning intern with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"I am extremely honored and humbled to have been chosen as the inaugural head coach for strength and conditioning at High Point University," Jennings said. "I look forward to building a championship-caliber strength and conditioning program that will pride itself in training student-athletes in the way of a champion; a philosophy and mentality that will transcend the arena of competition and carry over into the walk of life."
