Dr. Lauren Erin Brown has been hired as assistant professor of U.S. history in the Department of History at High Point University. High Point University recently hosted an Accounting Recruitment Day for HPU and Meredith College students. High Point University held a successful blood drive on Sept. 24 thanks to the dedication of students, faculty and staff. David Perez, coordinator of the Volunteer Center at HPU, reports that 271 donors took the time out of their busy schedules to donate blood. “That will save the lives of 813 people, and accounts for a total of 9 percent of our student population,” says Perez.

An anonymous out-of-state supporter has committed a $2 million gift for an indoor baseball training facility at High Point University. The facility – a fully enclosed, 11,000-square-foot structure that will include indoor batting and pitching cages, locker rooms for players and coaches, and other amenities – will be located next to Willard Stadium.
