HPU 101 (2:00pm – 3:30pm)
(Mandatory for all new students)

This three-session course allows students to learn about important resources on campus and around town. Students are required to attend each session at a time of their choosing.

Session 1: More than Books: Search, Discover and Create!
An Introduction to HPU Library and Academic Resources
Main Floor – Smith Library & 3rd Floor University Center – Learning Commons.
Attend session at either location Sessions begin @ 2:00pm, 2:30pm, 3:00pm, and 3:30pm

Session 2: Active & Engaged: Guide to HPU Recreation Services
1st Floor Slane Recreation Center
Sessions begin @ 2:00pm, 2:30pm, 3:00pm, and 3:30pm

Session 3: Passport Roadtrip Tour departs from the University Center
Session begins @ 3:30pm
Take “The Tour” around the City of High Point guided by the Campus Concierge. Your whirlwind tour will take you throughout the city, pointing out students’ favorite restaurants, shopping spots, and sites.

Chapel Service (5:30pm – 6:15pm)
Hayworth Chapel

First chapel worship service of the academic year. The Chapel Choir will provide the music for this first service of the year. The Reverend Preston Davis, HPU’s Minister to the University, will be preaching. The Board of Stewards and Kappa Delta sorority will serve as worship leaders and fellowship hosts. The Religious Life Expo will be held immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. Complimentary snacks and refreshments will be served.

Religious Life Expo (6:15pm)
Immediately following the worship service, students are invited to the fellowship hall of the Chapel.

There you may become acquainted with our choirs, programs and groups that create the formal and informal opportunities for students to participate in our on-campus religious organizations. This is a chance to meet student and faculty representatives, secure materials and contact information and sign up to receive invitations for future participation.

Peer Mentor Presentation “Risky Business” (7:00pm)
Hayworth Fine Arts Center

The HPU Peer Mentors are proud to present a skit production that depicts some of the important issues many college students might encounter during their freshman year. Some skits will make you laugh… others will make you think. Ultimately, these skits will raise your awareness about important college life issues!

Hypnotist (9:30pm)
Hayworth Fine Arts Center

Free your mind! Prepare to be hypnotized. Come and see your classmates under the spell.
