Classes will begin on Tuesday, August 20. For most of this initial, first week, students will be very busy with planned Orientation activities as well as the start of classes. One critical event that we encourage all new students to attend will be the Student Activities Fair. This fair will allow each of our new students to seek information regarding the 90+ organizations that our campus has to offer them. Additionally, if your student is interested in playing a club sport, there will be representatives present at the activities fair.
Also, your student will meet their Peer Mention on Saturday, August 17, this is a student who will help serve as a guide and consultant for your student. Peer Mentors go through a rigorous training program and know when your student may need addition support form the Office of Student Life.
Encourage your student to take pare in their Peer Mentor Group and the CAT Events to connect with other new students.
Tip: If you student should call home and indicate homesickness, please have them seek out the Resident Advisor (RA), Peer Mentor or Resident Director (RD)- all of these individuals will help and talk through their concerns and fears.
