Research Administration and Sponsored Programs Data Management Plans
Data Management Plans
With the advent of research projects producing data sets in the terabyte realm, data management plans are increasingly requested by sponsors to ensure that project data is available for future use and to the larger research community. The National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and the National Endowment for the Humanities are but three of the federal agencies that require these plans.
There are a number of resources to assist in preparing a data management plan. One of the most helpful resources is the DPM Tool. The DPM Tool is a software package created by a group of research institutions to better manage their research data. While HPU is not a collaborator, HPU faculty can still create an account use the tool.
