High Point University is proud to announce the release of our new emergency text messaging system. This system will be utilized by the High Point University Safety Office to broadcast important information concerning class cancellations and other important university-wide events right to your cell phone at no cost to you.
The release date for this system is Thursday, January 31, 2008. You can see a video on how the signup will work by visiting http://community.highpoint.edu and clicking on the Emergency Text Messaging instructional video located in the front page.
This is one of dozens of human and electronic systems High Point University has implemented to keep you safe! Please sign up for this free and important service and encourage all of your friends to sign up as well.
Clarification on cost: Even though this is a FREE service provided by HPU, we are aware that some service providers may charge you (independently from High Point University) for receiving text messages depending on your service plan. High Point University will reimburse you for the cost of receiving any one single message sent from the High Point University Safety Office to you on your cell phone. Please contact the High Point University Information Technology Office helpdesk with requests for reimbursement. Our primary goal is to keep you safe.
