Experience Chile up close and personal! Learn about Chile’s journey into the 21st century and its participation in the global arena. Immerse yourself in the Spanish language and Chilean culture by living with a Chilean host family and practicing Spanish with Chilean students. Earn EIGHT credits while studying at the Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. Along the way, tour Santiago, get to know Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, and enjoy exciting excursions. Return to High Point with two courses toward your Spanish major or minor, and satisfy the Global Studies requirement.

Program Highlights

  • Practice your Spanish while living with a Chilean host family and interacting with Chilean students
  • Explore Santiago during a nighttime bike tour
  • Relax in natural thermal hot springs nestled in the Andes Mountains
  • Horseback ride through the Andes during a weekend excursion and taste traditional Asado a la Chilena
  • All meals are included while living with your host family plus 3 dinners during the excursions
