For High Point University to recognize the credits you complete abroad, you must earn at least a grade equivalent to a C in the U.S. HPU will not accept credit for courses with grades of C– or below. Grades for all courses earned abroad are recorded on the international transcript. Credits are received by HPU as transfer credits, which means the credit is received but the grade is not. Your HPU grade point average will not be impacted positively or negatively by your study abroad courses.
Most students studying at Artevelde University College arrange their own accommodation through a private accommodation company. Accommodations offer varying amenities, information about which will be provided by the rental agency. The location of the accommodations is spread all over the city of Ghent. Students should expect at least a 10-minute walk from the campus but may find local transportation more convenient. Students also can look into purchasing or renting a bicycle for their stay in Ghent.
Upon acceptance, students may inquire with Artevelde University staff about university-owned accommodations; however, these are very limited and often difficult to secure. Students should not assume campus accommodations will be available for their studies abroad. Where available, university-owned accommodations are located between a 10- and a 15-minute walk from campus and are furnished with a desk, bed, wardrobe, washbasin, a small fridge with freezer, and kitchen supplies. The toilets, showers, and kitchen will be shared with other exchange students. Double rooms also are available. Internet access (LAN) is available in all rooms.
More information about housing info can be found on Artevelde University College’s international students’ accommodations page, including a link to the map of Ghent to see where the houses are located.
