Ms. Heidi Fischer

Heidi Fischer serves as the Director of Study Abroad, advising High Point University students to help them find a program that will meet their personal, professional, and academic needs and goals. Originally from Germany, Heidi is a first-generation college graduate of High Point University (International Business & French) and earned her MA in International Affairs at American University in Washington, DC. Prior to her move to HPU, Heidi served as the study abroad advisor for business majors at UNC Greensboro for seven years. She is a long-term member of chancel choirs, and has performed major works with the Winston-Salem Symphony and the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra.

Jonathan works with the short-term, faculty-led Global Experience programs, taking them from concept to completion. He works with faculty members and travel providers to tailor these courses to meet HPU students’ needs, and coordinates all promotional activities from flyers to interest meetings. Jonathan earned his BA in Music at Bridgewater College, where he studied abroad in England, France, Germany, Austria, and Italy. He earned his MM in Conducting at UM-Ann Arbor, and subsequently as a faculty member twice took students on May Term study abroad courses to the United Kingdom. In addition, Jonathan is a freelance collaborative artist, accomplished organist and choral director, with diverse experience in all things musical.
Mr. Chris Ferguson

Chris Ferguson is the Study Abroad Advisor and assists High Point University students studying business and foreign languages find relevant and impactful experiences abroad. Chris plays a large role in promotional activities for HPU semester programs, but he also assists with other programs, such as EXP 1101: The President’s Seminar on Life Skills, EXP 4999: The President’s Seminar for Seniors, and IDS 1151: Cultural Foundations. After graduating from HPU, he moved to China for a year to work with college students, pursue Chinese language study, and travel to various locations throughout China, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, and Thailand. He enjoys travel, history, dancing, disc golf, and many outdoor activities.
Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Murphy

Elizabeth Ann Murphy came to High Point University in 1994 as the Secretary for Career Development and joined Experiential Learning as the Administrative Assistant in 2007. Elizabeth Ann coordinates the International Ambassador Program, as well as EXP 1101: The President’s Seminar on Life Skills and IDS 1151: Cultural Foundations. She is a proud graduate of High Point College. She is a long-time volunteer for Reading Connections. She enjoys movies and reading, especially under an umbrella on the beach.
