It is located in the capital of Argentina, which is also the commercial and industrial center of the country. International students play a vital role in the community and the university. The University of Belgrano hosts over 2,500 international students from 40 different countries each year. Students become fully immersed in the culture both in and out of the classroom helping them to develop and cultivate a global perspective.

Academic Program
Established in 1964, the University of Belgrano is located in one of the most beautiful and cosmopolitan neighborhoods of the capital amongst wide tree lined avenues, museums and mansions.The university is equipped with computer labs, library and bookstore, Wi-Fi Internet access and more. Students are required to take a Spanish class while they are abroad but then may also choose from a variety of courses for their remaining classes.
Additionally, students can opt to take a 4-week Intensive Spanish language course prior to the start of the semester, which is included in the program fee. Taught by the School of Language and Foreign Studies, a team of qualified native Spanish speaking faculty with expertise in applied linguistics teaches language courses using the communicative approach. The course will help you to get a head start in adjusting to the new language and culture and to prepare for the placement exam for the semester program. Courses meet Monday to Friday for 5 hours per day. The Intensive Spanish language course is recommended for 5 semester credits. Credit Transfer
For High Point University to recognize the credits you complete abroad, you must earn at least a grade equivalent to a C in the U.S. HPU will not accept credit for courses with grades of C– or below. Grades for all courses earned abroad are recorded on the international transcript. Credits are received by HPU as transfer credits, which means the credit is received but the grade is not. Your HPU grade point average will not be impacted positively or negatively by your study abroad courses.

Housing
HPU students studying abroad at the University of Belgrano will home stay with local families.
Meals
Students at the University of Belgrano are provided with breakfast everyday and dinner Monday through Friday from their host families. All other meals are self-catered.

Application Fee: $500.00
The application fee is non-refundable. Due at time of application.
Program Fee: $19,703.00
- The program fee is payable to High Point University and includes tuition, fees, housing, and some meals. Participants are billed at the HPU All-Inclusive Fee rate of $20,800 with a less of $1,097 for meals not included.
- Meals not included in program fee are self-catered.
- In addition, this program includes an optional 4-week Intensive Spanish Course (a $2,000 value).

What will I experience at University of Belgrano?
Students can participate in a variety of extracurricular activities offered by University of Belgrano and join clubs and societies which bring further opportunity for friendship and cultural exchange with Argentine students. Sports clubs at Belgrano include basketball, volleyball, running and soccer. There are also many things to do in the surrounding areas. You can travel between your home stay and the university and the wider city using buses and the Subte underground train network. Students can visit places like, the Barrio San Telmo, La Boca, and Galeria Pacifico, experience the culture of Buenos Aires. Included in the program fee students can go on a short boat trip from Buenos Aires to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay. You will take the ferry ride across the Rio de la Plata, the widest river in the world, and spend the day exploring the cobbled streets and museums of the barrio Histórico (Old Town). Enjoy the view from the active lighthouse in the ruins of the Convento de San Francisco, stroll along the walls or rent a bike. Watch the sunset before returning to Buenos Aires. Also students can pay an additional fee to go on an over night bus trip to Iguazu Falls. They are bigger than Niagara Falls and one of the natural wonders of South America. Students will stay in an overnight in a hotel near the falls. They can visit the falls, enjoy a boat ride and walks in lush rainforests with plenty of free time to explore.
