Summer Experience gives you the opportunity to jump-start your academic career by gaining eight credits toward graduation before your freshman year officially starts. Collaboration is an integral part of High Point University’s liberal arts experience. Summer Experience will help you build a strong academic foundation while acclimating you to the unparalleled social, recreational and service opportunities available to you at HPU. You’ll improve your time management skills as you discover how to use different learning styles effectively, and you’ll become acquainted and comfortable with the HPU community as you network with your peers, Student Success Coach and academic professors.
Move-in and orientation for Summer Experience 2017 is Saturday, July 1. Classes will begin on Monday, July 3 and run through Friday, July 28 when students will take their final exams.
Online registration for Summer Experience 2017 will be available February 1, 2017. The comprehensive cost for SE2017 is $8,000 and includes tuition, room and board, meal plan and all other expenses, excluding textbooks and personal items. This comprehensive fee also includes NC Dining Plan State Sales Tax of $60.88.
Students have the opportunity to participate in the Leadership Certificate program. The purpose of the Leadership Certificate program is to encourage students to carefully analyze their responsibilities and commitments in the context of leadership for the common good and purposeful change. Students will come to understand their strengths and weaknesses as a leader and hone their ability to motivate and work with others. Through this program, students will develop their own leadership potential through the completion of personal and leadership self-assessments, values exploration, and leadership skill practice through program activities. No credits provided. The Leadership Certificate course is an optional program in which students can participate during Summer Experience.
