NMC Horizon Report on Technology and Higher Education

The New Media Consortium (NMC) annually teams up with EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI) to write the NMC Horizon Report.  This report is on emerging technologies that will most influence higher education.  You can download the full NMC Horizon Report for 2014.  According to the NMC website “this eleventh edition describes annual findings from the NMC Horizon Project, an ongoing research project designed to identify and describe emerging technologies likely to have an impact on learning, teaching, and creative inquiry in education.”  By taking a look at the table of contents we can see the topics of interest for this year:

The main topics of concern are online and collaborative learning, social media, data driven learning assessment, expanding access in education, keeping education relevant, flipped classroom, learning analytics, 3D printing, and games and gamification.  Are you facing these issues in the classroom?  Are you using any technology tools relevant to this discussion at High Point University?  If so, we’d love to hear from you so feel free to leave us a comment on the sidebar on the right.
