Open Access Publishing

In the academic world, publishing scholarly work is crucial to prolonging your career.  But publishing an article with a journal can become complicated and expensive for academic institutions and faculty due to publishers owning the rights to articles.  Open Access publishing “means unrestricted online access to peer-reviewed scholarly research.”  Open access can mean free online research or research presented with additional usage rights, typically through Creative Commons licenses.

Does this idea seem great to you?  There are some ways that you can contribute to the Open Access (OA) movement.  You can sometimes put your work in an OA repository or publish your work in an OA journal.
