Students of any major are welcome to audition for a role in any of our productions!
Additionally, we welcome all students to join us in any capacity that time and interest allows as members of our technical team in roles such as stitcher, electrics, paint, props, or lighting. Ken Elston, Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences, Director of Performing Arts, Interim Chair of Theatre and Dance, will be directing a few short projects in November and December.
There will be auditions for interested actors and singers on Friday, 9/27, 5:00-6:30pm in the Pauline Theatre.

November 11, HPU’s Veteran’s Day Event:
2 Actors are needed for reading poetry.
One rehearsal prior to a morning performance on Veteran’s Day.
That rehearsal will be open to those wishing to explore performing heightened text.
November 22 or 23, Murder Mystery Dinner Theater:
This semi-improvised DEVISED piece will be created collaboratively. Those interested in writing are welcome to join the “writer’s room” for a single evening of development.
At least 5 Actors will be cast. Those playing roles will have another rehearsal for the development of scene work.
December 12 and a potential reprise on the 13th, The Great Christmas Broadcast as part of HPU’s Community Christmas Event:
Please Note: students must be available after finals.
6-8 Actors and Singers will perform music and text in a 1940’s radio-style show.
Participants in this short play should expect four to five rehearsals prior to multiple performances on that Thursday evening (with the potential for a Friday evening performance).
A production requires many different roles to be executed properly.
Such positions include:
- Stage Manager
- Makeup Designer
- Wardrobe Crew
- Lighting Designer
- Electrics Crew
- Master Carpenter
- Props Crew
- Paint Crew
